A reflection on the word behind the house, and why a code matters more than a trend.
Centuries ago, a Dustur was not a document. It was an understanding, carried by master artisans and passed down through apprenticeship — a discipline that protected the integrity of a craft long before anyone thought to write it down.
We chose this word for the house because it says something a brand name alone cannot: that what we are building is not a collection of seasons, but a code that has to hold, piece after piece, chapter after chapter.
A trend asks to be followed today and replaced tomorrow. A code asks to be kept. That difference is the entire reason Maison Dustur exists.
